Annabel was a true hero...

IMG_7622_edited.jpg

Annabel was a shining light who dedicated her life to supporting others. She spent the last 20 years of her career bringing joy & creativity to marginalised people and she cared deeply about improving the lives of vulnerable women & children. Annabel lived every day with passion and purpose, believing that we must be the change we want to see in the world. We will all remember the joy, connection and dedication she radiated and try not to fall into despair, but continue her vital work and live our lives as she did.

Please donate here via this GoFundMe page so we can continue the work she started.

Annabel was a theatre maker and drama facilitator who had worked in arts for social change for over 15 years. She co-founded and created award winning projects for female survivors of trafficking and unaccompanied minors. She worked in Ghana and in safe houses for women in Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya. She was also a  Director of Feedback Theatre, where she co-founded the Luna Project.

Annabel’s extraordinary legacy continues through the organisation, and we celebrate and remember her by meeting at MamaSuze every week. Annabel did more for people in her 46 years than many do in a lifetime. Everyone involved with MamaSuze owes her so much and will never stop working towards a world where women are safe and thriving. We know she would be so proud of all we are continuing to achieve at MamaSuze. We will love and miss her forever.

MamaSuze : we exist to enhance the lives of survivors of forced displacement and gender based violence via weekly workshops in different art forms. MamaSuze aims to provide a welcoming, joyful space where women can socially interact, be creative and play together, strengthening confidence, resilience and identity.
